The salad with veal liver was quite good actually (I'm not usually a big liver eater!) and the service and reception absolutely delightful.
The owner popped in and out of our meal asking us to try things, and the whole mood and ambience was extremely festive. Perhaps the sparkling rose helped this a bit as well? Perhaps, perhaps.
Great spot for a mid-scale Italian meal in Berlin. -

I have tried this place a few times as it is near where I am staying. The first time I got the grilled fish which was well-cooked and it came with a side of sautéed vegetables. The waiter (owner?) doesn't speak any English, only Italian and German and is a funny character. When I was ordering the fish, he brought the raw fish out of the kitchen to show me. I have also had the mussels in white wine and the ravioli. All were good and prepared to order. The menu has a selection of fish, meat and pastas. You won't find pizza here. I like that the restaurant is frequented by Italians - a good sign that the food is authentic. If you are considered a regular, the owner will give you a digestif after dinner. I have been here a few times now and I love the friendly "Buona Sera Signora" that always greets me.
They are open late which is a plus and they are one of the few restaurants open on a Sunday in this neighborhood. They only accept cash, but if you forget, there is an ATM a few blocks away. -

I went to Mondo Sardo with my girlfriend a few days after its opening and we were really really disappointed. The wait was very long, which can be understood as it's a brand new place and if the food was good but it wasn't the case. We ordered a steak and a Truffle pasta.
The steak was just bad really tough an chewy, 15 mins after the truffle pasta arrived and it was just a stack of plain pasta covered of at least 4 tablespoons of truffle oil so the smell and taste were way to strong especially with truffle, i had one bite but it was impossible to eat. The staff tried to offer us something else but we were already sitting down there for 2hrs so we just paid and left The only highlight was the sea food soup ordered at the start, tasty and nice claws in it. Maybe we were just unlucky or the chef had a bad day?
But unfortunately i won't give it another chance especially for the price we've paid (approx 60 euros for 1 soup + 2 main courses and soft drink)
